The mission of QuietOnSet is to provide an information service to actors and other industry professionals, to help them find the right training and the right tools to find work. I have no other business interests related to the industry (apart from being an actor myself) so this site has no bias towards any other industry related business. I simply would like to provide motivation, opportunity, and realistic expectation regarding working in the Australian Film & Television Industry.

I have spent a lot of time searching the net for info on acting in Australia. There are a lot of American sites, but nothing that specialises on our own industry. There are a few sites that offer chats and group exchanges (some of the info offered or opinions are questionable and certainly not based on research though), some sites offer bits and pieces on what's on, others offer to be a casting type database for a fee (be very wary here, potential rip off). Some offer industry news, some have a notice board type set up where you can post advertisements, some crash often and most are really, really slow to load. (My biggest hate on the net is slow sites).

None of the sites really put it all together in a professional way and none of the sites give you information, from industry experts on how to get started, how to stay motivated, and the opportunity to learn from others who are slowly making it.

I work full time as a researcher and author for the site so the information provided will be constantly updated and added too. What you see on the website now is not the final product, the site will continually evolve and develop as I source new info. There will be constant interviews and features on other businesses, and the tutorials will be updated as the need arises.
