Ripleys Management - 27.5.03
Dear Lee,
Have just read the quiet on set newsletter (the one with tips from Malcom). Enjoyed it very much thankyou.
Just felt the urge to write to you and let you know.I am always also impressed with your 'write ups' for actors keeping motivated. (Especially the part about there being alot more to being an actor than waiting for your agent to call!)
I own a small agency in Melbourne called Ripleys. We specialise in multinationals, twins and character faces- As you can imagine, as an agent I can both sympathise with 'desperate' actors and also understand the limitations and 'frustrations' of the industry.
Just wanted to say- we love the site and find it very informative and interesting. If I wasn't so busy I would be able to read the newsletters the day they are sent!!- not a week later!! Would also love maybe some write ups from the agent's point of view on many topics if possible please. I often feel that agents sometimes get a bad wrap. Which is not fair to the agents out there that do really try for their actors. (Also as you can imagine we have a consistent struggle dealing with 'mis-informed' actors on a daily basis who really have no understanding of the industry!! ) So it can be exhausting at times being an agent!!
Thanks for the great site!
Kind Regards,
Anne-Marie and Peter
